I am a Master of Science in Business Analytics student at The University of Texas at Austin.
My passion for data analytics began as a sophomore. I took a few statistics courses where I was introduced to my first machine learning tool, linear regression! Alongside learning to code in R, I was hooked. I had so much fun in these classes and I became the go-to coder in my group projects. I continued to pursue this interest by specializing in the Quantitative Finance Track where I had the opportunity to take classes such as Times Series Forecasting alongside MBA students during my senior year of undergrad. Using R, we were able to implement various time series models such as seasonal decomposition, exponential smoothing, and a simple introduction to ARIMA models (COVID did not allow us to complete this section of the course 😠). It was through these experiences that I realized the Data Science field is for me, and I took the opportunity to expand my skill set through the MSBA program. In about three weeks before the program started, I taught myself the fundementals of Python and have made huge strides in my understanding of Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing and Data Management tools. I am currently working alongside Dell on a capstone project that seeks to answer questions regarding their pricing strategy while completing my last semester in the MSBA program. Please scroll through my resume and learn more about me and some of my recent work!

Financial Analyst Intern • May 2019 - July 2019
During my time at USAA, I worked under the External Reporting team where I handled various tasks that provided me with exposure to the external reporting process such as auditing financial statements. I also provided analytics work to the team by analyzing control processes across the five reporting teams and presented any interesting insights such as overlaps or opportunities for increased consistency. While I had minimal time to find anything of use for the team, I produced a method for analyzing these controls in a way that is useful and interpretable.
These are my Technical Skills.
Some packages that I am familiar with:
Pandas, SciKit-Learn, Numpy, Selenium, Beautiful Soup, ggplot2
The analysis explored whether the similarity score of a "retold" or "imagined" story would have predictive properties with its corresponding recalled story. We also explored whether it is possible to predict if a story is imagined or recalled.
The capstone course gives MSBA students an opportunity to conduct an industry sponsored analytics project. Along with three peers, we are working with Dell point-of-contacts as well as Dell research consultants to answer questions regarding Dell's pricing strategy.
A repo for code used for completing project 2 in Text Analysis where we were to analyze user sentiment on beer reviews from Beer Advocate's top 250 beers 🍺. Specifically, we needed to collect around 25 reviews for each beer in the top 250. This means we had over 6,250 rows of unstructured data in total!
